3 Feathers Old Growth Walnut Flute - Key of E, Tapered Bore
This is another very beautiful walnut flute hand carved from old growth walnut that also originates from the eastern slope side of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. A five hole flute that is 27 1/4 inches in overall length. This flute features Blue Copper Turquoise stone inlaid into the flute body. The beautiful grain pattern in this flute is in our opinion extremely desirable and is a favorite of ours for sure.
This flute is designed with a tapered bore that starts out wider at the top and then tapering down to a bore opening of approximately 7/8 in diameter. The splitting edge of the true sound hole on this flute is hand carved right into the wood of the flute.
The fetish of this flute has been selected and it is our feather fetish. The fetish is made from Old Growth Walnut and is from the same stock of wood that the flute came from. Leather accents are from dear skin leather and the color is a chocolate brown. Other accents are 3 baby eagle feathers (hand painted) that hang from the upper portion of the flute. The finish is like all of our other flutes, 12-15+ coats of finished and hand rubbed to a soft look and feel. Overall this is a very nice looking and sounding flute that is also easy to play.
This Walnut flute was selected for the Juried Portion of the Western Design Conference that was held at the Snow King Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming this past summer. This flute was one of 8 other flutes in our display and it was the featured flute that help win the blue ribbon and the Sunny Tuttle Award.
