PIPE #2 - 3 Feathers Ceremonial Styled Pipe (click on picture to enlarge)
This pipe is finally finished. This pipe was completely hand crafted from Cantlinite stone that was also hand quarried from Donovan Archambault's quarry in Pipestone Minnesota. This pipe is a very special pipe as it was designed in conjunction with ideas provided by Donovan Archambault. This pipe features an eagles head that is coming out of the bowl of the pipe. When you see the face on the eagle it is clear that this bird is one of strength. It is a bigger pipe and it would be a very nice pipe that could be used for ceremonial purposes or for special personal use. This is a special pipe to us and we will be very careful as to where this pipe will end up.
The pipe stem is made from old growth walnut and features hand wrapped buffalo hide lace. Three bands of native american beads dorn the pipe stem in three places and crow beads hand from the lace ends. Two Red Tail Hawk feathers (hand painted) hang from the pipe stem wrapped in traditional read wool cloth and sinu. This is a wonderful pipe that is one of the nice pipes we have made.
Please note: This pipe although it was hand crafted as taught to us by Donovan Archambault, Assiniboine Elder, we are NOT Native American ourselves. We have tried to craft this pipe in traditional ways and we have made sure we respect the stone each and every time we handle the pipe. We take very seriously the responsibility that comes to us as we craft our pipes.
